Frequently Asked Questions
Acupuncture Healing
-
Acupuncture is generally not painful. The needles used are very thin and insertion is often described as a mild sensation or a slight pinch. Some people may feel a dull ache or tingling sensation during the treatment.
-
In the realm of Traditional Chinese medicine, we commonly characterize acupuncture as a means to harmonize the flow of Qi (pronounced “Chee”) through the body’s meridians, each linked to an organ system. The equilibrium of this Qi flow is intended to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. Acupuncture has been aiding healing for over two millennia, tracing its origins back to more than 2,500 years. It remains a prominent form of healthcare globally.
Modern perspectives suggest acupuncture stimulates nerves, muscles, and connective tissue, activating the body’s innate healing responses.

-
NAET is often used to address allergies, sensitivities, and intolerances to various substances, including foods, environmental allergens, chemicals, and more. During a session, the patient is given either the allergen or a vial containing the energetic essence of the allergen, suspended in distilled water.
The practitioner then conducts neuromuscular response testing (muscle response testing) to observe the patient’s reaction, whether it triggers a weak or strong response. If it elicits weakness, the allergen may be targeted for treatment.
Treating the allergen involves a combination of acupressure along the spine and subsequent acupuncture (or an Acu-stim method which does not require needles) while the patient holds the vial. This process aims to alleviate the energy blockages and recondition the brain’s responses, thereby reducing defensive reactions upon future encounters with the allergen.
Following the treatment, it’s generally advised for most patients to avoid the allergen for a duration of 25 hours to ensure the treatment’s effectiveness.

The number of sessions needed varies widely depending on the individual’s specific sensitivities and their body’s response to treatment.
Prior to addressing different specific allergens, it’s important to test and address the fundamental Basic 15 vials. For example, if an individual is allergic to Vitamin C, which falls within the Basic 15 elements, achieving positive outcomes with a strawberry allergy treatment might prove challenging.
Putting the emphasis on testing and addressing the Basic 15 foundational vials initially also aids in bolstering the individual’s overall constitution, while concurrently promoting enhanced energy and a more compassionate sense of well-being.
If an individual is not severely immune deficient, they may need just one treatment to desensitize one allergen after having been tested and treated for the Basic 15.

Before starting treatments, please read “SAY GOODBYE TO ILLNESS” BY DR. DEVI NAMBUDRIPAD, NAET’s creator. It’s a valuable resource for your healing journey, offering tutorials, insights, and patient experiences.
If you have had skin or blood tests done for allergy sensitivities, please bring the results to the clinic before starting treatments.
